It was indeed a platform of inter-faith understanding. The occasion was Yaum-E-Rasul (Rasul Day) organized at Badi Karbala Nawabganj in Kanpur. Hosted by Maulana Kalbe Jawwad Fans Association, the program attracted scholars from different faiths and poets from all over country. While poets highlighted the exalted status of Holy Prophet, scholars eulogized his exemplary life and deeds with the help of Quranic verses and authenticated Hadees. Scholars like Baba Sushil Mishra,Sufi Hasnain Baqai, Sajjada Nasheen of Dargah Shah Madar, Muqtada Hussain Jafri, Maulana Mehdi Hasan Vaiz and social activist Nitin Kumar Nitin in their speeches expressed growing concern over religious intolerance and sectarian strife among Muslims. They called for promotion of inter-faith understanding to curb fanatics and stressed upon the need for creating more awareness about the teachings of Holy Prophet.

They described Hazrat Muhammad as example of human perfection and regretted that certain elements were disgracing Islam by resorting to terrorism, violence and killing of innocent people. Scholars also condemned the killing of Sheikh Baqar al Nimr and blamed the mounting disturbance among the Muslim world as a sequel to his ‘execution’. They wondered as to how Muslims were losing their religious tolerance when their Prophet never distinguished between friends and foes and did not utter even a single word against those who harassed him, pelted stones at him and tortured his followers.” He was merciful to all, pardoned his bitter enemies and turned a desert land into an oasis of humanity through his manners and charismatic personality. He converted a barbaric Arab society into a disciplined lot with respect for human values”, they added.

In his keynote address, Maulana Jawwad said “Holy Prophet brought revolution in just 23-years without much bloodshed and it was unfortunate that Muslims are unleashing reign of terror at the behest of Wahabi ideologists. They are not followers of Prophet but carrying on the mission of those who had opposed him when he began preaching Islam and accepted it when he found Hazrat Muhammad as a force to reckon with. They  embraced Islam out of compulsion and tried to change its basic tenets to suit their needs immediately after his death. Their modern descendants are going ahead with that legacy and shattering the world peace.”.He blamed unholy triangle of Israel, America and Saudi Arabia for terrorism and demanded trial of Saudi government in the international court of justice for executing its political opponents on fabricated charges and unfair trials.

Poets like Daagh Niyazi, Sajjad hallauri, Betab Hallauri and Ali Abbas also expressed similar views through their couplets, besides paying their respects to holy prophet and his pious family.Mr.Masood Barqi, Rais Ahmad, Sanjay,Ilyas Rizvi, Maulana Feroze,Nawab Mumtaz,Deshraj Sahu,Deepak Kelkar and Gandhi played significant role in making the program a grand success.Zahid Balrampuri compeered the proceedings .
